  • Ep. 117: Holy Hell, Mom!- The Case of Theresa Knorr & The Possession of Clara Germana Cele
Happy (almost) Mother’s Day, spooky fam! While everyone else is posting pastel bouquets and #blessed brunch selfies, we’re over here diving into the dark side of motherhood and the spirit world. This week, we're serving a two-course nightmare feast featuring one monstrous mother and one terrifying possession that turned heads.First up: Theresa Knorr- a woman who redefines "toxic mother." She claimed to be a victim herself, but the brutal abuse and eventual murder of two of her own daughters tells a much different story. Then we head to South Africa in 1906, where 16-year-old Clara Germana Cele supposedly made a deal with the Devil- or at least, that’s what the nuns believed when she started levitating, speaking fluent languages she’d never learned, and exhibiting classic signs of possession. Leave a comment, drop a review, or DM me your thoughts (and your favorite terrifying mom stories, fictional or otherwise).Sign up for the newsletter @ https://spiritswithcrime.wixsite.com/swcpodcastSend Me a Story! @ [email protected] & Instagram: spiritswithcrimepodcastGet Shaker & SpoonSources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clara_Germana_Celehttps://allthatsinteresting.com/real-exorcisms/6https://crimesandcuriosities.medium.com/the-worlds-most-evil-mother-86f46e54fccbhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theresa_Knorrhttps://usghostadventures.com/haunted-stories/clara-germana-cele/

  • Ep. 116: Possessed with a Purpose- The Case of Teresita Basa & The Pollock Twins
Hey there, spooky souls, this week's episode is for all my fellow weirdos who love their mysteries with a side of deja-vu. We're diving into two paranormal tales that blur the line between crime scene and seance.First up: the truly bizarre murder case of Teresita Basa. She was murdered in 1977 in Chicago — but according to some very credible weirdness, she didn’t let death stop her. And then we meet The Pollock Twins: two little girls born after the tragic death of their older sisters… who started displaying eerily specific knowledge about things they couldn’t possibly have known. Like, “describing their sisters’ old favorite toys” and pointing out places they’d never been. I want to hear YOUR theories: Was Teresita really reaching out from the beyond, or is there a rational twist we’re missing? And what’s the deal with the Pollock Twins? Leave a comment, drop a review, or DM me your thoughts, I might feature your take in next week’s episode!Sign up for the newsletter @ https://spiritswithcrime.wixsite.com/swcpodcastSend Me a Story! @ [email protected] & Instagram: spiritswithcrimepodcastGet Shaker & SpoonSources: https://unsolvedmysteries.fandom.com/wiki/Teresita_Basahttps://charmainewilding.medium.com/when-the-dead-speak-did-teresita-basa-solve-her-own-murder-44ac5e7c06a2https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/c1qj6c/the_pollock_twins_proof_of_reincarnation/https://unsolvedmysteries.fandom.com/wiki/Pollock_Twins

  • Ep 115: Wychful Thinking- The Disappearance of Evelyn Hartley & "Bella in the Wych Elm"
Hey there, spooky souls! Grab your favorite blanket (and maybe lock your doors?), because today we’re diving headfirst into two seriously chilling unsolved mysteries, and fair warning: they’re gonna stick with you.First up, we have the heartbreaking case of Evelyn Hartley, a 15-year-old babysitter who vanished in 1953 while doing what should’ve been a totally normal night of babysitting in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Then, things get a little more folklore creepy as we tumble into the story of Bella in the Wych Elm. In 1943 England, some kids goofing around in the woods stumbled across a human skeleton stuffed inside the hollow of a wych elm tree. And someone started scrawling “Who put Bella in the Wych Elm?” in graffiti all over the area — fueling a mystery that has everything from witchcraft to spy games baked in.Sign up for the newsletter @ https://spiritswithcrime.wixsite.com/swcpodcastSend Me a Story! @ [email protected] & Instagram: spiritswithcrimepodcastGet Shaker & SpoonSources: https://storiesoftheunsolved.com/2021/03/09/the-disappearance-of-evelyn-hartley/https://archives.lacrosselibrary.org/local-history/history-repeats/evelyn-hartley/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Evelyn_Hartleyhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who_put_Bella_in_the_wych_elm%3Fhttps://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/31-days-of-halloween-who-put-bella-down-the-wych-elm

  • Ep. 113: Holy Hell- The Killer Nun & The Chronovisor
Hello, spooky souls! Grab your favorite glass for this week's cocktail, because this week’s episode is divine. We’re unearthing two bizarre tales that’ll have you questioning nuns and the Vatican’s tech department.First up — ever heard of Mariam Soulakiotis, the Killer Nun? No, this isn’t a horror movie plot — it’s dark history at its weirdest. Known as the “Woman Rasputin,” this 20th-century Greek Orthodox nun ran a deadly monastery where faith, fear, and fatality collided. Then, we’re flipping the switch to full-on conspiracy mode with the Chronovisor — a legendary, supposedly Vatican-hidden time machine that can see into the past. Tune in as we dive deep into this wild theory, secret societies, and why the Vatican always seems to be hiding the coolest (and creepiest) stuff.
