Welcome Back!
It's been a hot minute since our last episode with the birth of my third bubba. Now it's time to get recording again!
In this episode we speak with Angelique Wood, a mother of two who lives here in Perth, Australia. Angelique had two beautiful water births but the experiences leading up the births were very different.
Angelique shares how the pressure to have a c-section created immense stress and how she advocated for herself the entire pregnancy for the birth she wanted.
Angelique then shares how healing her second sons birth was with the support and trust of her birth team.
We discuss:
- The birth of her first son who was born during the pandemic in a birthing centre in Mexico, where she birthed at 42 weeks
- How she had to advocate for herself and fight the system for her natural birth and rights in labour
- How the pressure from the medical team impacted her birthing experience
- Angelique's birth of her second son in Perth, Australia at the Family Birthing Centre
- How this was a very empowering, supportive and healing experience for her
- The importance of choosing aligned birth and support people

11. Natural VBAC twin birth story with Diane Pierotti
Welcome to this episode where we have a VERY inspiring guest with us; Diane Pierotti. Diane is a mother of three boys. Her eldest son is almost 7 years old and her twins are almost 4.
In this episode we hear about Diane’s incredible birth story of her twin boys which was a VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean). Diane had planned for a natural birth with her first born but after a very long and distressing labour, this birth resulted in a caesarean.
Despite this, she was determined to experience a physiological natural birth with her twins but this required a lot of determination to find a support team that encouraged her vision. A VBAC with twins is not something that the medical system encourages but Diane researched all the risks and found that it was a safe option to birth her twins vaginally. She found her support team and she had a wonderful natural birth in hospital.
