  • Episode 269: Hunter Noack (In A Landscape)
In celebration of  Earth Day, I’m excited to have classical pianist @hunternoack on the show this week!!  Hunter founded and operates @inalandscape, a non-profit which seeks to benefit environmental and conservationist causes. The In A Landscape series features unique outdoor performances by Hunter, taking place in amazing natural settings around the country. I talk to Hunter about the path his artistry has taken from early competitive performances, to being inspired by nature, and the development of his desire to raise awareness about environmental issues and the challenges we face to protect Mother Nature.   We discuss how In A Landscape not only achieves that goal, but does so with inspiring performances in amazing natural settings, drawing listeners in and creating  a meditative vibe with his playing. Hunter’s mission to use music to bring about change is both inspiring and totally admirable.  This is a super interesting and informative interview that you won’t want to miss!!   ============================Show Notes:More info on In A Landscape and for tour dates, click here Don't forget to please leave a review describing what you enjoyed most about this episode!!  Thanks for listening!!  =============================For more information on Roadcase:https://linktr.ee/roadcasepod and https://www.roadcasepod.comOr contact Roadcase by email:  [email protected] theme music:  "Eugene (Instrumental)" by Waltzer

  • Episode 268: Jeremy Kaplan of Dogs In A Pile
I’m super excited to have Jeremy Kaplan on Roadcase for this week’s episode. Jeremy plays keys in @dogsinapile, one of the most exciting jam bands on the scene today. I love dogs in general, and appropriately, Dogs In A Pile is one of my favorite bands out there today!!I spoke to Jeremy as the Dogs were coming off a four-show run in snowy Steamboat Springs, and we sit down to chat about everything from growing up hyper-focused on music (almost to a fault), to receiving a scholarship from Billy Joel’s foundation to attend Long Island School for the Arts, and eventually ending up at Berklee School of Music. I talk to Jeremy about all things Dogs, about his (secret) superpower, and how everything he knows about life, he attributes to his love of music. Jeremy and I go deep down all the roads in this fun conversation!! Jeremy is a super-generous spirit — an open book — he’s super thoughtful, and possesses an infectious love of what he does. This is truly a great one!!============================Show Notes:More info on Dogs In A Pile, and their current Spring Tour, here Here are links to a few things we talked about during the show:Jeremy's Rig Run Down, click hereMichael McDonald's memoir, What A Fool Believes, co-written with actor/author Paul Reiser, hereThe Real Frank Zappa Book, hereThanks for listening!!  Don't forget to leave a review describing what you enjoyed most about this episode!!=============================For more information on Roadcase:https://linktr.ee/roadcasepod and https://www.roadcasepod.comOr contact Roadcase by email:  [email protected] theme music:  "Eugene (Instrumental)" by Waltzer

  • Episode 267: Michigan Rattlers
I’m psyched to have @michiganrattlers on the show this week!! Friends from childhood, Graham Young, Adam Reed, Christian Wilder and Tony Audia all grew up together in Petosky, Michigan playing music, and dreaming of taking it out on the road. Now over a decade of touring later, they’re on their third studio album, Waving From A Sea, and are known for deep lyricism, a rich sonic quality, and a killer live show. This latest effort is produced by @dominicjohndavis (Jack White, Greensky Bluegrass, Willie Nelson) and represents a turning point in Michigan Rattlers young career.I was happy to have the entire band on the show and we talk about their early development and long days spent on the road. We also discuss what it means to be “of a place and time” and still be together doing what they love. We have a great time chatting — these guys know how to bring the high energy both on and off stage — and I’m super excited to share this action-packed interview!!   For information on Michigan Rattlers, head to their website here. For more information on Roadcase: https://linktr.ee/roadcasepod and https://www.roadcasepod.comOr contact Roadcase by email:  [email protected] theme music:  "Eugene (Instrumental)" by Waltzer
