On Thursday, May 4th from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hale library is hosting an event on copyright, AI generation, and intellectual property. Do you know who owns the information outputted by an AI or even if you own the words you use in a prompt? This workshop, led by Libraries staff, will help decode the terms of intellectual property in generative AI and guide you on use strategies in our new AI age. On Friday, May 5th, Dole Hall is open for drop-in portrait day! From 10 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m, these studio portrait sessions are available for faculty, students, and staff to have a professional portrait taken free of charge. The normal turnaround time is 5-7 business days. Please let the photographer know if it is needed sooner.

Friday, May 5, 2023 7:30-8:30 PM | Music & Performance with Paul Rucker
An improvisational performance by nationally recognized multimedia artist Paul Rucker. Premiering a new performance featuring improvisational music and dialogue.
Rucker and local artists led by Museum Specialist Nate McClendon will interact with the audience to create music and perform spontaneously, breaking the traditional barrier separating performers and spectators.
The performance will run from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Mark A. Chapman theater in Nichols Hall.

Wednesday, April 26, 2023 6:00 PM | Talent Show
On Wednesday April 26th the annual talent show will be live in the K-State Student Union. Registration is open until the day of the event and students can perform singing acts, spoken words, magic or comedy. The Grand prize for first place will be one thousand dollars, with second place getting eight hundred and third place getting 500 hundred. Participants must be a k-state student to enter and the performances will start at 6pm on Wednesday.

Groups of K-State students had 48 hours to create an original short story as part of a filmmaking competition. After turning in the short films, a panel of professional filmmakers judged the films based on a set criteria. Now, UPC is putting on an incredible red carpet-style premiere for everyone to watch! Prizes will be awarded in several categories including the Audience Choice Award! You won't want to miss the (lights, cameras, and) action!
