"Remember to guard your grove well."We arrive at the Inn on a pleasant winter evening and a birthday. We are introduced to Cook’s grandchild, Tol and we help blow out candles on the beautiful apple cake that Cook has made. Tol is very persuasive and entices us into a game of hide and seek. We hide in the enormous cabinet we find built into the wall under the second staircase and discover it is already occupied by a wood nymph named Abeba. She tells us the tale of the Talking Skull from the Ashanti Kingdom and how loose lips can sometimes lead to lost heads. We settle down to doze among the extra pillows in the corner as she tells us about the great trees of her grove and the power in honoring the sources of our inspiration.
