    Renaissance, an iconic trend setting band was launched in 1969, combining a fusion of rock, folk, classical and jazz genres.  The bands co-founders included Jim McCarty and Keith Relf, who launched The Yardbirds.  A couple years after forming Renaissance, Jim focused back on music with The Yardbirds and vocalist Annie Haslam carried on as the focal point of the band.  Multi-award winning program director Ray White "Zoomed" with Jim and Annie to talk about their "History of Renaissance" 2025 special performances and touch on the evolution of the band.  A once in a lifetime event with key figures in the band, on this very special episode brought to you by your friends at Classic Artists Today.

  • CAT Episode 205 - 20th Anniversary of the CAT
    20th Anniversary Show!  Your multi award-winning producer and host Ray White has interviewed nearly 500 world-class musicians over the past two decades.  We're celebrating by sharing interview segments and much more from three of our most listened to shows.  We kick things off with a bassist who played in three highly successful bands... Heart, Firefall and Spirit - Mark Andes (Episode 15).  We'll then roll right into one of the greatest rock vocalists from the U.K. - Paul Carrack (Episode 83).  You'll remember him from the big hit "How Long" by Ace and he was in the band Mike + the Mechanics and Squeeze.  Paul released numerous solo albums, too.   • CAT Episode 204 - Don Barnes (.38 Special)
    Don Barnes, original member of .38 Special, leads the band today on vocals and guitar.  Celebrating 50 years, the band has just released their latest album - Milestone.  Multi-award winning program director Ray White, hooked up with Don in September of 2025 as they released their latest studio album - the first by the band in 21 years.  Don shared his insights on the current band members who've been with him for over two decades, key collaborators on the album, and shared many personal thoughts on the bands' new music.  Be sure to check out Don talking about his solo album and more from .38 Special on Episode 55!  Don and .38 Special are keeping Southern Rock alive and well after all these years!!  In our showcase segment, we feature a tribute to the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer with Bad Company, Mick Ralphs, who passed away on June 23, 2025.  Mick landed on the international music scene back in 1966 with the British band, Mott The Hoople. Celebrating 20 years in 2025,  Classic Artists Today... is still going strong too!!!

  • CAT Episode 203 - Nick Feldman (Wang Chung)
    Wang Chung was formed in London in 1980, co-founded by Nick Feldman and Jack Hues.  The band has released 7 studio albums with 11 singles that have landed on various music charts.  Multi-award winning program director Ray White caught up with Nick backstage before their show in June of 2025 as part of the "I Want My 80's Tour" with Rick Springfield, John Waite & John Cafferty.  He shared with us the story behind the bands first name - Huang Chung, remaking of several songs that ended up being hits, his time with Culture Club's Jon Moss in the band Promised Land and much more!  Nick also shared his insights on technological changes in the music industry that affected the sound of the band.  Everybody will definitely Wang Chung Tonight on this episode, from the authority on the latest from classic rock and pop bands - Classic Artists Today!

  • CAT Episode 202 - The Wood Brothers
    The Wood Brothers, Oliver and Chris, have emerged as one of the innovative American roots music bands on today's scene.  Each concentrated on differant genres of music before coming together to form their band.  Oliver leaned towards Blues and Rhythm & Blues, while Chris was more on the Jazz Fusion side of music.  Together, five of their collective albums have landed on the charts.  In 2018, they were nominated for the Grammys' Best Americana Album award for their One Drop Of Truth project.  The Wood Brothers' brand new CD is Puff of Smoke.  Show producer Ray White talks with the brothers about their early years and how they've built a solid following with their musical union, plus much more.  In our showcase segment, we feature a collaboration between Elton John and multi-Grammy winner Brandi Carlile, whose latest album is Who Believes In Angels?  Also, we feature an amazing award-winning Blues/Southern Rock stalwart, Tommy Castro, who recently released his Closer To The Bone CD.  The best from Roots to Americana to Blues, we've got it on the CAT!
